Berlin on Bike!

Guided Bike Tours Berlin

Berlin on Bike! is a bikeseeing company making city sightseeing tours in which clients ride back through time and experience present-day Berlin.

Because we live in the future and can publish from the desktop, we created all our online and offline marketing ourselves.

In the course of three years, we have built a client base of more than 10,000 customers anually by mainly using the web.

The Website

Originally built as a frameset, www.berlinonbike.de was updated for relaunch in spring 2006 using valid html styled with css. The target of the redesign was to keep the fixed navigation on the left side standing in all browsers, accomodating some of our more senior customers.

Future plans include a visual rebuilding of the site to give it a more professional look.

Schedule Berlin on Bike!

The schedule of Berlin on Bike is database driven. After all, the bike tour season runs from mid-March until November, and we have winter tours as well. As of 2007, we had more than 1000 regular tours and I did not want to enter all the data by hand.

We use our database to supply information for event calendars of newspapers and magazines, and to provide websites with tour information. Our schedule encompasses a variety of formats for the different requests made by the respective publications.

Furthermore, we use the data personally as a base for our own tour planning, accounting and wage distribution.

Presswork must be done periodically as hotels request updated flyers on a regular basis. Furthermore, we continuously work on new marketing strategies targeting travel guides and tv stations in order to increase our coverage. I must say, databases are a cool way to track these efforts.
